I doubt anybody doesn't want to pay 3-5 times more for a mac because they LOATH there computing experience. Its because mac overcharges for everything they sell. My Sony Vaio Laptop has a better processor (i3 compared to core 2 duo), 4 GB of RAM (same on mac) more HDD space, 320 GB (250 in mac) than the macbook pro 15" and cost $600 dollars compared to $1700. It has an HDMI out and its made of polycarbonate which in some respects is better than aluminum. Windows 7 is amazing and IMO I "LOATH" OSX compared to it. As for slow growth, its apple who still hasn't put the core i series in there computers (except for the imac 27") Netbooks may have started out slow and under powered but now pc's like the HP mini 311 has enough power to watch HD movies and play graphics heavy games. Speaking of underpowered the ipad has a small processor, only runs apple approved apps and cant even multi task . Im going for the HP slate.
